We are pleased to bring back Monica Carpendale to offer this powerful and intriguing two-day workshop titled, Art Therapy & Dreamwork: Healing the Healers.

Description: 

This experiential studio course in spontaneous art and dream work offers an opportunity for the participant to personally experience the art therapy process through exploration of art materials and art therapy techniques applicable to work with individuals and groups. The facilitator will process artwork with each participant within the group. There will be opportunity through group discussion to review the art therapy process from different theoretical and therapeutic perspectives.

This workshop will be of interest to all people interested in exploring dreams, it has been designed for therapists who wish to explore dreams in the context of their practice and own work and those training or interested in pursuing art therapy training. A progressive framework for understanding dream work in the context of art therapy will be introduced with a focus on the relationship between psychoanalytic, Jungian, gestalt and existential approaches.

Learning Objectives: 

  • To experience dream work and the art therapy process.
  • To experience doing dream work from different orientations.
  • To observe the application of art therapy theory as it is reflected in practice.
  • To identify and examine significant issues and personal experiences.
  • To explore the creative process for personal growth and insight

Monica Carpendale is the founder and executive director of the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute. She has over 25 years of art therapy experience and is a national and international presenter, author of several books and DVD’s on art therapy.
