It has been a busy and creatively energized year. I have enjoyed a brief summer lull and now we are gearing up for more ventures.

Chebucto Art Therapy & Counselling Centre (CATCC) will again be offering workshops and professional learning opportunities this fall (2013). We have a collaborative agreement with Kutenai Art Therapy Institute (KATI)

Regarding Art Therapy training, we are making changes to the program for local delivery and no longer actively pursuing accreditation with Nova Scotia PCTIA. However prospective students can still register as Kutenai Art Therapy Institute (KATI) distance students and also take workshops from CATCC for transfer credit.

People who attend workshops (for professional or personal development) can also obtain credit towards enrollment with the KATI program, with the addition of a small administrative fee and submission of a written assignment (please inquire in advance with CATCC or with KATI, if this is your intention). Workshop and group offerings include, Mindfulness based Art Therapy (MBAT); MBAT with addictions – in the process of recovery; Art Therapy with Mask-Making; Bereavement and Art Therapy; Art therapy with a Circle of Courage model; Therapeutic skills, Healing the Healers: Art Therapy & Dreamwork; Art Therapy & Interpretation; and more.

I am very excited about the coming year as we expand the professional and personal development opportunities and build more community connections too.
